Flexible Flyer Sled - 54in.L Review
Flexible Flyer Sled - 54in.L Feature
The torpedo is a traditional, even retro, snow sled that evokes those finned rockets on the covers of late-'50s sci-fi novels. Made entirely of a wooden deck on metal runners and frame, it's almost 5 feet long but only just over a foot wide. That's excepting two small front "wings," which stick out a few inches on either side and are predrilled so that you can attach a rope to hang onto. (The rope is not included, which seems an odd omission.) We rate it as only moderately durable: some of the frame elements are rather slim, and the three central wooden components could easily get cracked in an accident.
